Given the extent of djt's apparent psychopathy, my nightmare is becoming more

evident -- he will refuse to leave office when his term ends.

He has become emboldened to claim that he is now a world leader on a par with (or superior to) those in Russia, N Korea, and China -- with the most powerful military on the planet. He will split with NATO and align with the totalitarian leaders. Those who disagree could end up in the detention centers he's having DHS purchase at our expense. Elections will be suspended.

The time to take action to prevent this may have passed. And he knows it.

$66B of the $1.5 Trillion 2027 defense budget request is for his "Golden Fleet" of battleships

Last year, at a West Point speech, he said he rebuilt the military in his first term. So why does he need $1.5T next year -- the highest defense budget in U.S. history? Guess he's planning more wars. (More aptly called the Golden Fleece.)

The White House is requesting $66 billion in funding to build 34 new Naval ships. This includes a class of battleships President Trump touted last year, part of what he calls "The Golden Fleet."

It's part of a one-and-a-half trillion dollar defense budget request for fiscal year 2027.The White House says this proposal would reduce non-defense spending by 10%.

A WH "official" has told MS NOW that Pam Bondi has been told

TSF says we could end the Iran war in "two or three weeks"...

WASHINGTON/JERUSALEM/CAIRO, April 1 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States could end its military attacks on Iran within two to three weeks and that Tehran did not have to make a deal as a prerequisite for the conflict winding down.

Point #1: So there's no deal? What about the Hormuz blockade?
Point #2: Why are we sending more troops to Iran?
Point #3: So we give the "enemy" our schedule, now?

(I'm old enough to remember when Gen. Custer e-mailed Chiefs Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse to tell them that the cavalry would arrive at Little Big Horn in a couple of weeks. The sole survivor of that battle was a horse named Comanche.)

The U.S. Postal Service currently will hand-cancel mail that requires a postmark. So will the Supremes change this?

January 2, 2026

MYTH: How the Postal Service applies postmarks is changing.

FACT: The Postal Service has not changed and is not changing our postmarking practices, which have been consistent since we began moving away from hand-canceling every item at Post Offices decades ago.

-snip-

While we are not changing our postmarking practices, we have made adjustments to our transportation operations that will result in some mailpieces not arriving at our originating processing facilities on the same day that they are mailed. This means that the date on the postmarks applied at our processing facilities will not necessarily match the date on which the customer’s mailpiece was collected by a letter carrier or dropped off at a retail location.

As before, a customer can ensure that a postmark is applied to his or her mailpiece, and that the date on the postmark matches the date of mailing, by visiting a Postal Service retail location and requesting a manual (local) postmark at the retail counter when tendering their mailpiece. Manual postmarks will be applied free of charge.

This guidance is the same for all types of mailpieces, including mail-in ballots. Customers with additional questions about mail-in ballots can visit our Election Mail website: usps.com/voterinfo. (My emphasis)

(Could come in handy at tax-mailing time, too.)

A simple observation: Reading the list of DU comment headers, it's amazing how many

begin with "Donald Trump threatens...." That's almost all he does besides brag about himself.

$200 billion for more war? Why doesn't djt take it out of the billions that the

tariffs are bringing in? He said just two weeks ago that billions were coming in from tariffs.

Aarrgghh. Enough of the EXcursion. It's more properly an INcursion....

Excursion: 1) A short journey made with the intention of returning to the starting point; an outing. 2) A pleasure tour, especially one of limited duration and at a special low fare.

Incursion: A sudden attack on or invasion of hostile territory.

MS NOW just reported that the new Ayatollah has released his first message,

saying (my paraphrasing) that Iran will continue to avenge their martyrs -- including the school children who were killed. Discussion among the show's hosts indicate we may suffer a long-term closure of the Straits of Hormuz.
