TSF appears to be doubling down on recruiting new countries to join the U.S.:

Source of this is the Daily Mail UK. Always regarded it to be "iffy" like our tabloids, but it is reporting the following, attributed to Truth Social:

On Christmas, Trump escalated his campaigns against the governments of both Panama and Canada.

'Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal (where we lost 38,000 people in its building 110 years ago), always making certain that the United States puts in Billions of Dollars in “repair” money, but will have absolutely nothing to say about “anything,"' Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.

'Also, to Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada, whose Citizens’ Taxes are far too high, but if Canada was to become our 51st State, their Taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their businesses would immediately double in size, and they would be militarily protected like no other Country anywhere in the World.

Alleged genius Musk may not be all that sharp, afterall

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott applauded Elon Musk's commitment to stopping government waste after the tech billionaire — who heads the "Department of Government Efficiency" task force to try to cut $2 trillion from the budget — vowed to block the federal government from funding the construction of a new football stadium for the Washington Commanders in the omnibus spending deal.

The flap began when Mario Nawfal, a right-wing social media influencer, posted on Musk's X platform that "Buried in the 1,547-page omnibus bill is a provision to facilitate a $3 billion stadium in Washington, D.C."

Musk quickly replied, "This should not be funded by your tax dollars!"

Abbott cheered Musk on, chiming in, "Good catch, Elon. You are doing a great job."

But according to Washington Post reporter Aaron Blake, none of this is true.

"Indeed, Page 233 of the continuing resolution contains a passage titled, "PROHIBITING USE OF FEDERAL FUNDS FOR STADIUM...."

POTUS-elect gets his feathers ruffled over Judge Merchan ruling yesterday

Truth Social:

I am the only Political Opponent in American History not allowed to defend myself – A despicable First Amendment Violation! Merchan took the Manhattan D.A.’s Witch Hunt, that, according to all Legal Scholars, including Jonathan Turley, Elie Honig, Andy McCarthy, Alan Dershowitz, Gregg Jarrett, David Rivkin, Elizabeth Price Foley, Katie and Andy Cherkasky, Paul Ingrassia, and many others, is a nonexistent case, barred by the Statute of Limitations, and should have never been brought and, through his fraud and misconduct, gave it a semblance of “life.” While Deranged Jack Smith was sent packing back to The Hague after losing all of his politically manufactured cases against me, Merchan, who is far worse and even more corrupt than Smith in his fight for my hopeless political opponents, just cannot let go of this charade. Is it because of his conflicts and relations that he keeps breaking the Law? This has to stop! It is time to end the Lawfare once and for all, so we can come together as one Nation and, Make America Great Again.

He's apparently saying that paying hush money for sexual dalliances is an official POTUS duty.

Richest guy on Earth enjoys intimidating people

Reid Hoffman, a cofounder of LinkedIn, said he had received threats of violence — and had to hire security — since Elon Musk fueled a baseless conspiracy theory about him.

Musk, the Tesla CEO who worked with Hoffman at PayPal, replied earlier this month to an X post in which a user implied Hoffman had visited the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's private island.

snip

Musk also made the claim during an October interview with the former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, in which he said Hoffman was among the "billionaires behind Kamala" who were "terrified" by the prospect of Epstein's client list being made public.

Speaking with the British newspaper The Sunday Times, Hoffman said Musk had developed a "conviction with no evidence" that he had a close relationship with Epstein.

After Epstein's suicide in jail in 2019, Hoffman apologized for inviting him to a dinner party in 2015 with other tech tycoons — including Musk, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Palantir's cofounder Peter Thiel — while fundraising for MIT's renowned Media Lab.

ABC agrees to pay $15 million to DJT's presidential library to settle lawsuit

against George Stephanopoulos. (Who knew TSF had a library? Or even knew what a library is?)
Source: Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) — ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million toward Donald Trump’s presidential library to settle a lawsuit over anchor George Stephanopoulos’ inaccurate on-air assertion that the president-elect had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.

According to settlement documents made public Saturday, ABC will also post a note on its website expressing regret over the claim in a March 10 segment on Stephanopoulos’ “This Week” program and pay $1 million in legal fees to Trump’s lawyer.

In a statement, ABC News said: “We are pleased that the parties have reached an agreement to dismiss the lawsuit on the terms in the court filing.”

Citizen Birthright: Trump has a plan for the far-right SCOTUS

Politico reported Saturday that Trump's planned executive order would be aimed at preventing children of undocumented immigrants born in the United States from having birthright citizenship. Because presidents can't undo constitutional provisions on their own, it's likely that litigation over the order will eventually make its way to the High Court, which has a six-member conservative majority (including three judges Trump himself appointed).

“What will happen is, the government will get sued, and it’ll go up to the Supreme Court, and we’ll finally get a final decision on this issue,” Hans von Spakovsky, who is senior legal and judicial studies fellow at the far-right Heritage Foundation, told Politico. “The last case on this was 1898, so it’s a very long time ago. And I actually think when the Supreme Court looks at this, they will realize and uphold what Trump does.”

Patel's flirtation with QAnon is scariest bit about him for me

NPR

QAnon believers have long been anticipating what they call "the storm," which they expect will include mass arrests and punishment for "the cabal" and members of the deep state. Trump's decision to pick Patel to lead the FBI has been celebrated by the movement's key influencers as a sign "the storm" is imminent.
--- snip

In 2022, after Patel inscribed some copies of one of his children's books with a QAnon slogan, he fielded questions about whether he was a believer. He claimed he used the slogan because of its ties to a movie, but did not distance himself completely, either.

"You know, the Q thing is a movement. A lot of people attached themselves to it," Patel told pro-Trump influencer Mary Grace at the time. "I disagree with a lot of what that movement says, but I agree with what a lot of that movement says."
--- snip

Patel has tended not to focus on the pedophile part of the belief system, but he's made more than 50 appearances on at least a dozen podcasts that have either promoted the QAnon movement or shared QAnon-related conspiracy theories.

CBS News: Kimberly Guilfoyle being considered to be ambassador to Greece

President-elect Donald Trump is considering nominating Kimberly Guilfoyle to be U.S. ambassador to Greece, three sources familiar with the selection confirmed to CBS News. Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host-turned-political fundraiser, was dating Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

Note the past tense "was dating". The posting to Greece may be her consolation prize.

Have a question about bitcoin:

While reading a news story a few minutes ago, a pop-up on my screen showed this:

$96,866.83
24H change • as of 12/10/2024, 04:52 PM
‎-39.04 (‎-0.04%)

That was followed by the per-share of some other stocks. So bitcoin is selling for $96,866.83 per share? WHO except the most wealthy can buy shares?? How can that ever work for the average person?

RFK Jr's planning to make America healthy again with raw milk farmer

Robert F Kennedy Jr has asked a raw milk farmer whose products have been recalled for containing the bird flu virus to become a health adviser to the US government.

Mark McAfee, a raw milk producer from California, confirmed on Thursday that he had applied to advise the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on his product, after a request from Donald Trump’s Health Secretary nominee.

Mr Kennedy is understood to have asked Mr McAfee to apply for the role, despite his products being recalled 13 times since 2006 for containing bird flu and other pathogens.

/snip

His appointment to the FDA is not confirmed, and Mr Kennedy’s own nomination as HHS Secretary is subject to confirmation by the Senate.
